ATHOL, Mass.—L.S. Starrett Co. has good news on the force testing front for machinists and tool and die makers.
From simple to complex material testing, Starrett now offers a system that allows its software to be interchangeable with its various testing frames.
The new force testing system, Starrett said, "increases application versatility, providing users a wider range of solution options from basic to advanced, for their specific force and material testing needs."
According to Starrett, which manufactures precision hand tool gauges and metrology equipment in addition to force testing equipment and software, the company's L2, S2, L2 Plus and L3 software now can be used in conjunction with all Starrett frames and stands.
Starrett also said its L1 and S1 software now works with its FMM series frames.
While Starrett's FMS and MMS frames can determine simple load, distance and breaking points, they also can handle complex material testing, determining tensile strength, stress and strain, Starrett said.
On the software front, the company said its programs offer quality control, research and design, inspection and force measurement solutions for compression and extension springs. They also are developed to offer high-volume production testing that is efficient, functional and affordable.
