STOW, Ohio—Patient information, sample identification, readability and traceability are crucial in pharmaceutical and laboratory settings.
To meet these goals, Mactac is offering a new heat transfer, polyester film labelstock known as Durafol that provides high resistance to abrasion and chemicals that can be used in such environments. The film now is part of Mactac Performance Adhesive Group's LINTEC Durable Goods/Industrial Labeling product line.
"We are excited to introduce our Durafol high chemical-resistance labelstock to customers," said Kim Hensley, senior marketing manager for Mactac Performance Adhesives. "The high chemical resistance of the film allows exposure to a variety of harsh chemicals and cleaning agents such as isopropyl alcohol, xylene, brake fluid and acetone—without compromising the print or top-coating. The performance is exceptional."
The printable film allows for printed labels on a range of surfaces, according to Mactac, and features a 2.4-mil white matte polyester film and a white glassine liner.
Mactac suggests that Durafol be used in conjunction with Ricoh B110CU or DNP R550 thermal transfer ribbons. An overlaminate is not required, according to Mactac.
Other applications for Durafol include electronic components; automotive and aerospace; and fluid and chemical containers.
