ESSEN, Germany—Evonik A.G. has released Silikophen AC 1,000, a methyl silicone-based resin designed for high-temperature applications in large industrial objects.
The firm said Silikophen grade is suitable for pipelines or industrial plants in addition to fireplaces in the private sector. It is primarily used for thermostable corrosion protection.
Evonik said typically these coatings require curing at high temperatures that limit applications in large objects. However, Silikophen AC 1,000 cures under ambient conditions while maintaining corrosion protection and permanent high temperatures. Thanks to its low viscosity, solvent-free formulations can be produced easily and it provides strong color stability.
The product complements Evonik's portfolio of coating additives. For more information, visit coating-additives.com.
