LEXINGTON, Ky.—Emerson has released a new tool designed to help pneumatic system users integrate the Industrial Internet of Things.
The firm's Aventics Smart Pneumatics Analyzer can be connected to the compressed air supply of an existing machine, giving users analytics options for machine characteristics like compressed air consumption and possible leakages.
Emerson said the monitor detects the system's operating state, analyzes data and provides processed information. The analyzer evaluates the data locally and uses it to generate information about the system's status—all data from its valves and components connected to the modules on the valve system is read into a microprocessor and processed via algorithms.
One benefit, the company said, is that users can anticipate wear prior to it leading to machine downtime, which can boot equipment availability and cut maintenance costs.
