VERNON HILLS, Ill.—Cole-Parmer Instrument Co. L.L.C. introduced its new Masterflex L/S Easy-Load pump head to replace the original model, launched 30 years ago.
The pump head, which has been redesigned to be more compact, is appropriate for use in the laboratory or for process and industrial applications, according to a Cole-Parmer release.
It pumps 2.3 liters per minute at 5-6 bar, and its four-roller design improves pressure performance and pulsation. The occlusion-bed geometry reduces tubing wear and lengthens tubing life, according to Cole-Parmer. Tubing changes features single-thumb actuation with automatic tubing retention to eliminate the need for manual adjustments, and pump heads can be stacked to allow multichannel pumping.
The pump head has a corrosion-resistant stainless steel rotor and PTFE-shielded bearings, and works on any Masterflex L/S drive. It provides optimal performance when using compatible Masterflex tubing, the firm said.
Models are available with and without open-head sensor functionality, with the open-head sensor providing more safety by stopping the drive when the pump head is opened, the firm said.
