ROMULUS, Mich.—APS Elastomers' Zythane 7000 series of non-halogen flame retardant TPU received the top UL Flame rating of V-0.
The rating, which includes Zythane 7075AW, 7085AF and 7085AW, tops competitors' ratings of equivalent material, according to an APS release.
In the UL flame test results, Zythane 7075AW was rated at V-0 up to 2 mm thickness, and both Zythane 7085AF and 7085AW were rated at V-0 up to 2.1 mm, the company said.
The three TPU, supplied uncolored in pellet form, are polyether-based non-halogenated FR TPU specifically formulated for both injection molding and extrusion applications with ease of processing, APS said. They show excellent flame retardant, abrasion resistance and toughness and has good hydrolytic stability, oil, fuel and solvent resistance.
Typical applications for the TPUs include cable sheathing, spiral and pneumatic tubing, film, irrigation hoses, conveyor hoses, hydraulic hoses, flat flex cables and automotive sensor cables, according to APS.
APS Elastomers is an independent TPU, TPE, TPV and other elastomer resource owned and operated by Stephane Morin and Roger Huarng.
