DIAMOND BAR, Calif.—South Korean auto maker Hyundai Motor Co. has selected Nexen Tire America Inc.'s grand-touring all-season tire, the N'Priz AH8, as original equipment for the new Hyundai Venue.
The Venue, the seventh SUV in the Hyundai lineup, will be available to consumers later in 2019 and will come equipped with the N'Priz AH8 in size 205/55/R17.
According to Nexen, this marks the 13th OE fitment for the N'Priz AH8 in the U.S. market, as well as the 39th fitment overall in the U.S.
Nexen said the N'Priz AH8 excels in all types of terrain and has improved snow performance over its predecessor, the CP672. making it ideal for the Venue.
"Being selected as original equipment for the new Hyundai Venue further solidifies Nexen Tire's ongoing commitment to continued growth in the OE tire segment" said John Hagan, executive vice president of sales for Nexen Tire America. "We look forward to the continued growth with Hyundai and the OE division."
Nexen, which recently opened a $178 million global R&D center in Seoul, has set a goal to secure 3.25 percent market share in the U.S. by 2020. The tire maker has its sights set on cracking the Top 10 in global sales by 2025.
