NOVI, Mich.—Cool shouldn't be complicated. So Cooper-Standard and its joint venture partner are stepping up and streamlining things a bit, giving BEVs extra range and efficiency advantages in the process.
The Northville, Mich.-based auto supplier has entered into a joint venture agreement with Industrie Saleri Italo S.p.A. on the development of what it calls "novel high-performance coolant fluid management devices."
With the newly designed device, Cooper-Standard and Saleri combine a number of aspects of fluid control and connection. In doing so, the device allows for more simplified EV architectures, which ultimately can help OEMs increase range and improve performance.
