NOVI, Mich.—Cooper Standard Automotive Inc. recently received supplier recognition awards from General Motors Co. and Ford Motor Co.
The firm was named a GM Supplier of the Year during the original equipment manufacturer's 27th annual Supplier of the Year Awards held in May. Cooper Standard said GM honored 133 of its best suppliers from 15 countries for consistently exceeding the OEM's expectations, creating outstanding value or introducing innovations to the company.
This is the second consecutive year Cooper Standard has received the award.
"We hold our suppliers to a high bar," Steve Kiefer, GM senior vice president, global purchasing and supply chain, said in a Cooper Standard news release. "They went above and beyond to deliver the innovations and quality that will help us earn customers for life."
Ford honored Cooper Standard as a top-performing global supplier at the OEM's 21st annual Ford World Excellence Awards. Cooper Standard was presented with a Smart Pillar award by Hau Thai-Tang—Ford chief product development and purchasing officer—and Linda Cash, Ford vice president, quality and new model programs.
"Ford's annual World Excellence Awards recognize our top-performing suppliers for their contributions to our success," Thai-Tang said in a Cooper Standard news release.
