NORTHVILLE, Mich.—If sustainability and corporate responsibility are among Cooper Standard's goals, the company recently received confirmation it's moving in the right direction.
Newsweek recently listed the auto supplier among the United States' 400 top performing companies in corporate social responsibility. To achieve the ranking, Newsweek surveyed public information from more than 2,000 companies, focusing on achievements in key areas of environment, social and corporate governance.
This marks the second consecutive year that Cooper Standard has made the list, which includes companies from 14 industries.
"In addition to being committed to developing innovative products and systems, Cooper Standard is also dedicated to strong governance, and social and environmental sustainability," Jeffrey Edwards, Cooper Standard chairman and CEO, said in a news release. "We are honored to be recognized by Newsweek and Statista for our corporate social responsibility efforts and our progress towards world-class performance in all areas of our business. We are committed to delivering sustained value for all our stakeholders."
Earlier this year, Cooper Standard received similar recognition for CSR efforts, earning a spot on Ethisphere's 2020 World's Most Ethical Companies list.
Northville-based Cooper Standard manufactures sealing, fuel and brake delivery and fluid transfer systems, operating in 21 countries across the globe. It employs around 24,000.
