CRANSTON, R.I.—Mearthane Products Corp., a manufacturer of customized polyurethane and metal products, completed its acquisition of Morris & Broms L.L.C.
The purchase of M&B, a provider of precision stamping and sheet metal fabrication services based in Cranston, is MPC's fourth acquisition in two years, according to a company news release. Purchase details were not disclosed.
M&B will join MPC's Elmco Tool Co. to create the new MPC Precision Metals division, and its operations will remain in its Cranston location, MPC said. Mark Chase, a 30-year veteran of MPC, will become the general manager of the new MPC Precision Metals business. He has held leadership roles including in operations, supply chain and customer service.
M&B has been a key supplier to markets including defense, electronics, point-of-sale displays and medical devices, MPC said.
The company's capabilities complement MPC's metal machining services, allowing MPC to better serve existing customers and expand into new markets, MPC President Pete Kaczmarek said.
M&B has ISO-9001 certification, ITAR registration and is designated as a veteran-owned small business, Chase said.
The new purchase follows the company's acquisition of Creative Urethanes Inc. of Winchester, Va., in October.
MPC develops and manufactures polyurethane and metal components with applications in media handling, defense, fitness and recreation, medical devices and industrial.
