Opening Day is one of my favorite sports events of the year because it means baseball is back.
Which means, if you wind up going out to the ballgame, it's time to keep a sharp eye for foul balls.
Auburn University is thinking ahead as it gets ready for its baseball season. The university recently selected Line-X to help restore the roofs and fascia of its dugouts. Restoring the roofs ensured they were ready for years of extreme weather and foul balls.
Line-X will apply its polyurea product—a type of elastomer that is derived from the reaction product of an isocyanate component and a synthetic resin blend—to the university's dugouts. The firm said it provides a solution that both defends against harsh conditions, but will also not fade, crack, bubble or peel when exposed to those elements. Auburn mechanically removed the original fading paint before it was sprayed with a primer then the color-matched Line-X protective coating.
