BENGALURU, India—Trelleborg's anti-vibration solutions operation is set to open a production facility in the southern Indian city of Bengaluru later this month.
The "state-of-the art" plant will significantly increase Trelleborg's production capabilities for the rail industry, according to a company news release.
Set up in an area of about 67,000 square feet, the unit will work closely with local OEMs as India continues to invest in its rail infrastructure, the company noted.
Trelleborg expects to create 100 jobs at the facility and plans to develop an engineering center there to support technical requirements.
Without giving further details, the Swedish group said that the plant "represents a significant investment for Trelleborg."
The company said it plans to expand the facility to occupy a total of about 88,000 square feet within three years.
