MINNEAPOLIS—Sick A.G. partnered with AutoCoding Systems, a software solution provider for the consumer goods industry.
The partnership will enable Sick to provide customers with a combined package of sensor technology and ACS's software platform, according to a company news release.
Sick is a manufacturer of sensors, safety systems, machine vision, encoders and automatic identification products for industrial applications. It has operations or representations in 65 countries, and serves markets including logistics, automotive, packaging, electronics and food and beverage.
The Sick products and ACS coding and packaging verification solutions can be used in a range of applications, Sick said. The company's Lector image-based code readers are used for 1D and 2D barcode scanning to check retail barcodes, backweb label barcodes, and packaging artwork barcodes. ACS also has a number of vision installations that incorporate Sicks' ICR inspectors and IVC-3D cameras, and are integrating with the new Inspector P series of camears.
Sick said the combination of sensors and software allows manufacturers to ensure the integrity of their products, and provides reliability and accuracy to customers.
