GREENVILLE, S.C.—Michelin North America Inc. has expanded a distribution agreement with HCL, bringing its full line of bicycle tire products to the U.S. market through HCL locations.
Michelin's bicycle tires—offered for road, city and mountain bikes—are available through HCL in both the U.S. and Canada, as of March 18.
Shane Messner, Michelin's director of two-wheel for North America, said in a statement that the distribution agreement falls in line with the tire maker's goal to broaden access to its portfolio.
"Michelin has a long-standing relationship with HLC in Canada and this agreement extends our product availability in the U.S.," Messner said. "This expansion supports Michelin's goal to meet consumer needs by broadening access to our products.
"HLC has a compelling vision for the future, and we are proud to partner with its team of cycling enthusiasts."
Greenville-based Michelin said the bicycle parts distributor has the largest independent bike dealers reach in North America with more than 5,500 retailers and 50 sales representatives.
HCL has headquarters in Levis, Quebec, and Lexington, S.C.
In addition to bicycles, Michelin manufactures products for a variety of vehicles including airplanes, passenger vehicles and motorcycles as well as construction and farm equipment.
