YAROSLAVL, Russia—Russian carbon black manufacturer JSC Yaroslavskiy Tekhnicheskiy Uglerod has increased production volume at its plant in Yaroslavl, by 5.6 percent to more than 371,000 metric tons per year.
In a written statement, the company attributed the volume growth to continuous upgrades and debottlenecking of production processes.
Without giving detailed figures, the company reported positive financial results for 2018, "despite the significant increase of the feedstock cost and the decline in supply."
If feedstock costs remain the same, the carbon black supplier expects this year's sales to be flat or slightly higher.
The company also announced that it changed name to YATU, after V.U. Orlov, to honor its first general director.
