WASHINGTON—Dynamic Tire Corp. is recalling 130 Sailun-brand S698 medium truck tires because of an incomplete tire identification number on the sidewall.
Tires with an incomplete TIN would be impossible to identify in the event they would be subject to a safety recall, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Woodbridge, Ontario-based Dynamic Tire has identified 130 of the Sailun S698 157/154 L PR20 tires, in size 315/80R22.5, as being recalled. Dynamic did not say how many it suspects were sold in the U.S. versus Canada.
They were produced by Shandong Jinyu Tire Co. Ltd. in Dongying, China, between June 18 and 25.
The tire is described a premium all-position regional tire.
Dynamic plans to reimburse an owner or purchaser who incurred costs to obtain a remedy for the problem addressed by the recall within a reasonable time in advance of Dynamic's notification of owners, purchasers and dealers.
Sailun-brand tires are distributed in the U.S. by TBC Corp.
