SANTA ANA, Calif.—Yokohama Tire Corp. plans to unveil a deep-tread drive-axle tire and a regional haul trailer tire during the Transportation Maintenance Council Show, to be held March 18-21 in Atlanta.
Both tires—712L long-haul drive and 114R UWB regional haul—are SmartWay-verified low-resistance products and are considered long lasting and fuel efficient, Yokohama said.
The 712L, which will be manufactured at Yokohama's plant in West Point, Miss., will be available April 1 in four sizes: 295/75R22.5, 11R22.5, 285/75R24.5 and 11R24.5.
The 114R UWB is the successor to the RY407 UWB and will be available later in the year in size 445/50R22.5.
Those two tires will be among 14 tires, including light-truck and OTR products, that the tire maker will display at the TMC Show.
Tom Clauer, Yokohama's senior manager of commercial and OTR product planning, said the 712L's deep tread "offers advanced wear resistance, top-tier fuel-efficiency and traction, and tough, durable construction. It's designed for fleets to keep their trucks rolling for a long, long time."
