AKRON—Thomas Williams, Parker Hannifin Corp.'s chief executive and chairman, has been elected to the board of directors of Goodyear.
Williams has more than 30 years of experience in international operations with "particular expertise on complex and cyclical businesses," Richard Krammer, Goodyear chairman, CEO and president, said in a statement.
The tire maker expects to tap Williams' knowledge in manufacturing, distribution and logistics as well as his expertise in safety and sustainability, Kramer added.
Williams joined Parker Hannifin, a manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems, in 2003, and has served as its CEO since February 2015.
He was elected as chairman of the board of Parker in January 2016.
Prior to joining Parker Hannifin, Williams was employed by General Electric Co. for 22 years.
