PARIS—Safic-Alcan will begin distributing Lanxess A.G.'s biocide products in France.
The move follows a change in classification of active ingredients such as methylisothiazolinone, which makes it possible to promote alternative biocide solutions.
The distribution partnership Lanxess' Preventol and Biochek brands, which are use industries such as paints, varnishes, detergents, cooling lubricants, plastics and disinfection, Safic-Alcan said in a statement.
"The sale of biocides is challenging and demands comprehensive technical, biological and regulatory competence," Jean-Yves Petit, of Lanxess' Biocides France, said in a statement. "With Safic-Alcan, we have gained a partner who, thanks to their extensive experience in the sales and promotion of chemical specialties including biocides, can transmit these competences to our customers."
The firm added that its distribution team will use Lanxess' technical knowledge to support French customers with innovative solutions. Safic-Alcan is a French independent distributor of specialty chemicals, providing polymers, materials and additives for the rubber, coatings, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industries.
