RAVENNA, Ohio—Ace Products and Consulting L.L.C., an independent testing, research and development laboratory, released details on its upcoming iLearn Innovation Institute courses.
The new courses, designed for customers, technical partners, manufacturers, technical employees and students, will be available in March, according to a company news release.
The "Beginner: Compounding, Testing and Mixing" course will run from March 12-14, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The first day will cover an introductory level of formulating elastomer compounds, with topics including raw material selection, construction of formulations and basic troubleshooting. Day two will focus on testing rubber elastomer compounds. Topics will include interpreting specifications, rheology, physical testing, conditioning and reporting. The final day will cover subjects such as internal mixers and mixing parameters.
The course will be instructed by Erick Sharp, Ace president and CEO; Laboratory Manager Doug Foster and Richard Jorkasky, consultant.
Ace also will host an Occupational Safety and Health Administration 30-hour general industry safety training and certification March 18-22, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The course provides general industry workers awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards on a general industry site. Participants will learn OSHA policies, procedures and standards, as well as general industry safety and health principles and work practices covered in OSHA Act Part 1910.
Participants will receive a 30-hour general industry safety certification completion card.
The course will be instructed by Tamara Kerr-Sahli, director of environmental, health and safety at Environmental Specialists Inc.
