CHICAGO—American Sustainable Rubber Co. L.L.C., a new, wholly owned subsidiary of United American Healthcare Corp., has appointed Timothy Madden as president.
"Madden is a serial entrepreneur, inventor and corporate executive who has experience in positioning his companies as leaders in the U.S. indoor agriculture industry," according to an ASR news release.
Madden founded and led two agricultural research companies, Biodynamics L.L.C. and Organic Genomics Inc., the release said.
He has extensive experience in plant science, greenhouse construction and fully automated controlled environment agriculture vertical farming technology, it said.
ASR will be devoted to developing a domestic natural rubber industry through genetic modification of the Taraxacum kok-saghyz (TK) dandelion, according to the company website.
"Once we've gotten the DNA strand just right, our next step is to pilot the grow in a cutting-edge vertical hydroponic system," ASR said.
United American Healthcare, the parent company, pursues strategic investment opportunities in various emerging growth industries, the website said.
