VORONEZH, Russia—Sibur is expanding neodymium polybutadiene rubber (NdBR) capacity at its production plant in Voronezh, south west Russia. The project, Sibur said in a news release, will involve a "large-scale" upgrade at the plant to improve efficiency and quality of products
The upgrade, which is expected to come on stream in 2021, will increase total output by 13,000 metric tons per year, bringing total capacity to 48,000 tons. According to Sibur, the additional capacity will help to meet the "strong demand" in CIS and European countries.
Sibur maintains that its NdBR grades are "environmentally friendly and energy-efficient," with "guaranteed better quality." The material, Sibur said, is free of "harmful oligomers" and can be used as feedstock for eco-friendly tires.
