CERRITOS, Calif.—R.D. Abbott Co. Inc. signed a new distribution agreement with Lord Corp. to expand its distribution of Lord adhesives and coatings to Canada.
The new agreement, which was effective from the beginning of 2019, will be managed locally by R.D. Abbott's R.D. Abbott Canada Ltd. unit, based out of Burlington, Ontario, according to company news release. The new agreement includes: Chemlok, Flocklok, IMB, Co-Laminated Chemlok film, LokRelease and Sipiol.
Prior to the revised distribution agreement, R.D. Abbott represented Lord in the western U.S. and Mexico. R.D. Abbott also distributed Lord In-Mold Bonding Adhesives throughout North America.
The adhesives and coatings covered in the new agreement are used in a range of mining and related industries, with some key applications including: solid tire vehicles, rubber track crawlers, rubber tank linings, functional components for automotive products, and custom rubber molding for the oil, gas and energy industries.
R.D. Abbott plans to have the Lord brands and products available for shipment by the mid-February.
R.D. Abbott has partnered with Lord for more than 60 years in rubber-to-substrate bonding products. Most recently, the company's innovations with Lord include bonding techniques for addition-cured polymers, liquid silicone rubber, plastics and other substrates.
R.D. Abbott is an elastomers supplier and materials science company. Lord is a diversified technology and manufacturing company developing adhesives, coatings, motion management devices and sensing technologies.
