WORCESTER, Mass.—Saint-Gobain Abrasives has expanded its Norton Quantum3 with the addition of its Norton Quantum3 RightCut Wheels.
The NQ3 RightCut wheels are designed wit a more rounded grain than precision-shaped ceramic grains found in competitor wheels. The design, Saint-Gobain said, results in less vibration, which reduces operator fatigue.
The 0.045-inch wheel is ideal for use in thinner materials, the company said, noting that the proprietary grain allows for quick, efficient cuts.
"The bond system of the NQ3 technology allows for better mix control during the manufacturing process. This better mix keeps the individual grains from clumping together, for a more even wear of the cut-off wheel," said Alicia Castagna, Norton Saint-Gobain Abrasives' product manager for thin wheels.
Norton Quantum3 RightCut wheels are available in four Type 01/41 and three Type 27/42 cutting application SKUs and in 4.5-inch, 5-inch and 6-inch wheel sizes.
