AKRON—Goodyear has promoted Gary VanderLind to the role of senior vice president, Global Human Resources, effective Feb. 1. VanderLind currently serves as vice president of human resources for the company's Americas region.
He began his career with Goodyear in retail stores in 1985, managing several company-owned outlets. He then advanced through various human resources roles in North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and the Americas, and also held corporate and functional roles.
Richard Kramer, chairman, CEO and president of Goodyear, said that VanderLind's three decades of experience in multiple regions, serving several parts of the company, make him "uniquely positioned to make an impact on attracting and developing our talent around the world."
VanderLind, who will report directly to Kramer, succeeds John Lucas, who is retiring.
