CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio—Facts Inc., a supplier and integrator of measurement, control and information systems for the manufacturing industry, unveiled its TeraGauge sensor for sheet and web applications.
The sensor offers non-ionizing, non-contact online measurement that is safe and capable of operating in harsh environments, according to a Facts news release.
It provides precise, repeatable high-speed measurement performance in a single-sided scanner, Facts said.
The Facts Total Gauge Control System integrates the TeraGauge gauge into a single-window automation solution. Basis weight, density, single and multilayer thickness measurements can be made with an accuracy that is equal to or better than conventional technologies, and will replace multiple scanner and sensor configurations, reducing maintenance while improving accuracy and results, Facts said.
TeraGauge measurements are available a wide product range, including clear and opaque film and sheet; foam products, board and adhesive; thin wall packaging; multi-layer EPDM, textile and steel cord tire ply, inner liner and gum thickness; and products with variable mineral filler or pigment content.
It can reduce the measurement payload, rationalize calibration, improve reliability and lower cost of web gauging maintenance and ownership, Facts said. It can reduce scrap and increase quality production.
Facts can retrofit conventional sensors on current web gauging systems with TeraGauge technology. Its measurement systems are designed for daily use in industrial manufacturing operations and interface to its process control and information management platforms.
Facts, which has been in operation for more than 25 years, has shipped more than 1,000 systems across 15 countries. For more information, visit facts-inc.com.
