BERWYN, Pa.—Christopher Pappas, Trinseo S.A. president and CEO, will retire in 2019, and the company is making plans for a leadership transition.
A successor should be name soon, Trinseo said, noting that Pappas will help facilitate the leadership transition.
Pappas started his career at the Dow Chemical Co., where he gathered industry experience in sales and managerial positions between 1978 and 1996 when he joined DuPont Dow Elastomers L.L.C. There, he held several senior positions, including vice president of ethylene elastomers and, from 1999 onward, commercial vice president.
He joined Nova Chemicals Corp. in 2000, holding top roles before becoming president and CEO in 2009.
He was named to lead Trinseo (formerly known as Styron) in March 2010, and assumed the role in June of that year, when Dow sold Trinseo to Bain Capital Partners .
