JOHANNESBURG—Off-the-road tire specialist Magna Tyre Group has opened a new regional office in the Maxwell Office Complex in Waterfall City, part of the Johannesburg metropolitan municipality.
Magna said opening the office is a result of success the rapid growth and excellent performance of Magna products in South Africa and neighboring countries. The tire maker said customers would benefit from "closer and even more personalized attention" with more products available.
Michael de Ruijter, CEO of Magna, said the objective in the move is to increase market share and focus on and improving customer satisfaction and relationships.
"The new Magna Tyres office will play an important role in enhancing the Magna Tyres brand image and strengthen our commitment to all customers in the region," de Ruijter said.
Magna recently added three sizes to its Magna M-Terrain E4 tire designed specifically for articulated dump trucks in difficult off-road conditions.
Earlier this year, the company said it has doubled production capacity at its plant in Hardenberg, Netherlands. It said production will increase to 7,000 tires per year for the 17.5R25, 20.5R25 and 23.5R25 size ranges.
