HERMES, France—Borflex has acquired Rex Articoli Tecnici, a Swiss manufacturer of rubber and plastics parts.
The acquisition is intended to reinforce Borflex's international expansion strategy, according to news release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Rex Articoli's supplies products for rail transport applications and multi-material components as well as bicycle brake systems sold under the SwissStop brand.
Hermes-based Borflex said the acquisition expands its position in the European market for rubber and composite products and grows its workforce by 120 to around 350 people. Annual sales are expected to be around $52 million.
With nine production sites in France, Borflex specializes in small- and medium-run manufacture of rubber, polyurethane and thermoplastic elastomer parts.
The northern France-based company's main markets include defense, railway, automotive, energy, food-processing industry and industrial maintenance.
