WASHINGTON—Yokohama Tire Corp. is voluntarily recalling 529 Yokohama RY023 truck tires, size 295/75R22.5 14G, for possible tread separation.
The tires may have been made with an improperly manufactured rubber compound that provides inadequate rubber adhesion, Yokohama told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The tires bear the date code 2318 and the Yokohama part number 02396. Yokohama will replace the tires free of charge, with a tread depth proration credit if non-Yokohama tires are installed, according to a Yokohama technical services bulletin.
The recall began Nov. 28. Owners may call Yokohama customer service at 800-722-9888.
