INDIANAPOLIS—Former PolyOne Corp. executive John Van Hulle has been named CEO of specialty chemicals firm Vertellus Holdings L.L.C.
In an Oct. 25 news release, officials with Indianapolis-based Vertellus said Van Hulle brings more than three decades of leadership experience in the specialty chemical and plastics industries serving sectors ranging from polymers and additives to the agricultural, pharmaceutical and food markets.
In the release, Van Hulle said Vertellus "has a robust portfolio of existing technologies as well as a pipeline of promising innovations that position the company to drive value for our customers and stakeholders."
Van Hulle retired from PolyOne, a major compounder and resin distributor based in Avon Lake, Ohio, in July 2017. He had been with the firm for 11 years, most recently as president of its global color and additives unit. Earlier in his career, Van Hulle had served as CEO of chemicals supplier ChemDesign.
Vertellus generates about 10 percent of its sales from plastics, including Zemac-brand copolymer additives and Citroflex-brand bioplasticizers.
