QINGDAO, China—ContiTech A.G. has relocated its hose production plant in Qingdao to a new facility in Qingdao Sin-German Ecopark, on the east coast of Shandong province.
The $35 million plant covers an area of 904,168 square feet and manufactures hose products and mobile fluid system solutions for the Chinese automotive industry, the company announced Oct. 18.
Core products include cooling system lines, air-conditioning hoses, oil lines, turbocharger lines, exhaust system GPF lines for both passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
The production unit also employs advanced technologies for energy conservation and environmental protection for vehicles. Such technologies, Conti said, include air conditioning hoses using new refrigerant HFO-1234yf, lightweight cooling water hoses suitable for electric vehicles and GPF hoses meeting the Chinese IV standards.
ContiTech also planning to build a research and development center for hoses at the new Qingdao plant next year.
This, according to Song Qi, head of ContiTech in China, will make the facility "the largest automotive hose line production site in China."
