MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio—Parker Hannifin Corp. is getting a new chief information officer.
The Mayfield Heights-based maker of motion and control technology products said Oct. 19 that William G. Eline, its CIO, will retire after 40 years of working at the company. In turn, Parker has appointed Dinu J. Parel to succeed Eline, starting next month.
Eline "has had a remarkable career at Parker," Cathy Suever, executive vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer, said in a statement. She said that in leading Parker's global information technology efforts, Eline "established a center-led strategy to improve efficiency and expand the capabilities of the function to align with the needs of our operations."
Parel comes to Parker from Illinois-based Dover Corp., where he was the industrial conglomerate's first CIO. In that role, Parel "developed and implemented a transformational initiative to position IT as a strategic business partner, and had responsibility for global IT strategy, cyber security and shared services," Parker said in a news release.
Prior to joining Dover, Parel worked in positions of increasing responsibilities at Baker Hughes.
Suever said in a statement that Parel's "diverse leadership expertise and proven track record of driving change aligned to business strategy will serve him well at Parker, as he assumes responsibility for leading our global IT organization and strategy. His leadership will help support the needs of our team members and business operations and continue our ability to provide a premier experience for our customers by enabling Parker's enterprise and digital capabilities."
