LOUISVILLE, Ky,—Doss Visual Solution s.r.l., manufacturer of visual inspection systems for the rubber product industry, has opened a subsidiary in Detroit, representatives of Doss said at the International Elastomer Conference in Louisville Oct. 9-11.

Doss' Detroit office will be a showroom for Doss machinery and equipment as well as a technical assistance center and a source of spare parts, according to Aleksandra Plackovic, the company's sales manager—North America.
The office is open now, but will not be fully operational until the end of 2018, Plackovic said. The company has 40 customers in the U.S. and is working to attract more, she said.
In business for more than 20 years, Erbusco, Italy-based Doss produces a portfolio of systems designed for the quality inspection of all kinds of parts made of rubber or plastic, especially gaskets, seals and O-rings, according to the company.
Doss constantly updates and improves its product line to maximize inspection performance through new optical and lighting technologies, improved automation and integration of robotics, the company said.
Doss was at the IEC exhibiting the Doss dSort 2, a double-table automatic sorting machine allowing for the inspection of both sides of O-rings.
