MUNICH—Wacker Chemie A.G. will raise its prices for vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer dispersions for its Vinnapas brand by up to 10 percent or as customer contracts allow in the Americas.
The increase, which takes effect Nov. 5, is necessary because of ongoing market price increases in vinyl acetate monomer, according to a Wacker news release. The monomer is a primary raw material for the manufacturing of Wacker's vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer dispersions.
Rising freight, logistics and distribution costs across the industry also continue to be significant challenges, Wacker said.
Vinnapas dispersions are applied in industries including adhesives, construction, caulks, nonwovens, paints and coatings, paper, carpet and textiles.
