NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations will increase prices by 10 percent on Dayton-brand truck and bus tires sold in the U.S. and Canada.

All Dayton truck and bus tires shipped on or after Sept. 24 will reflect this increase, according to BATO. Members of the BATO commercial sales team are contacting customers to provide more details about the changes, the company said.

The price hike, BATO said, is in response to increased business costs and other market dynamics.

Bridgestone's decision to raise prices on Dayton products comes on the heels of a 3.5 percent increase on replacement passenger and light truck tires sold in the U.S. The tire maker also said it would increase prices by as much as 4 percent on "select" Firestone-brand agriculture tires sold in the U.S. and Canada.

Several other tire makers have announced similar increases in recent weeks.

Alliance Tire Americas Inc. and Nexen Tire America Inc. are increasing prices on Nov. 1. Alliance will adjust prices by up to 4 percent across all product lines for the Alliance, Galaxy and Primex brand, while Nexen will increase prices on all passenger and light truck tires sold in the U.S., with a maximum increase of 6 percent. The price increases will vary by tire, will take effect Nov. 1.

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. (up to 4 percent on all Cooper-produced passenger and light truck tire brands) and Kumho Tire USA Inc. (up to 6 percent on its passenger, light truck and medium truck tires sold in the U.S.) raised prices will be raising prices effective Oct. 1.

Goodyear raised prices up to 3 percent Sept. 1 on "select" consumer tire lines in the U.S., covering all Goodyear brands.
