EPE, Netherlands—Chen Xing Chunjing has been appointed as general manager of VMI Yantai.
Chen Xing succeeds Xu Kangyuan, who has retired after leading VMI Yantai for almost 20 years, according to a news release. The appointment, the company said, "confirms that both China and the wider Asian market will remain extremely important to VMI."
"China is a very important market for VMI. By strengthening our top management in China, we ensure the support of our customers in their ambitious plans," Harm Voortman, president and CEO of VMI Group said in a statement.
VMI Yantai has more than 330 employees and operates as an integrated part of the global VMI organization.
Chen Xing has more than 30 years of experience in managing large production facilities, mainly in the automotive industry. In his new role, he is tasked with working to "continue Yantai's strategic development, accelerate production and bring new levels of agility using lean techniques and advanced analytics to drive operational efficiency," VMI said.
