AKRON—After more than two full days of speaker presentations focusing on the latest development in tire manufacturing and design, the International Tire Exhibition & Conference came to a close Sept. 13.
The bi-annual conference, organized by Rubber & Plastics News, is a three-day event that includes a full schedule of technical papers exploring a range of topics related to tire manufacturing. The accompanying exhibit offers industry suppliers the opportunity to show off the most up-to-date technology.
This year's event ran Sept. 11-13 at the John S. Knight Center in Akron, and it included a keynote presentation from Rich Kramer, Goodyear chairman, CEO and president, as well as a special breakfast during which Steve Cron, co-inventor of Michelin's Tweel, was given the Harold Herzlich Distinguished Technology Achievement Award.
ITEC is set to return to Akron Sept. 15-17, 2020.
There's plenty in store for RPN in 2019, including the ITEC in Focus program, which will offer an in-depth look at green tire technology. The two-day ITEC in Focus event is set for Sept. 25-26, 2019, is dedicated to examining one aspect of tire manufacturing and development.
