AKRON—ITEC 2018, a three-day event that focuses on the latest trends and technologies emerging throughout the tire industry, kicked off Sept. 11 at the John S. Knight Center in Akron.
The first day of the event featured dozens of presentations, a networking reception and a visit from Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan.
Tuesday's agenda includes a keynote address from Richard Kramer, Goodyear chairman, CEO and president, who will present "Miles Ahead: Tires & the New Mobility Ecosystem." He will discuss how changes in consumer transportation preferences and rapid advances in technology are creating a new world of transportation. The Goodyear chairman will use the acronym FACE—standing for fleets, autonomous vehicles, connected vehicles and electric vehicles—to give the audience an easy way to think about the new mobility ecosystem.
Kramer, who is one of more than 50 speakers slated to present during the show, will speak from 11:10 a.m. to noon.
Registration for the ITEC programming, which includes lunch, can be made at the door.
In addition to the presentations, ITEC offers a trade show with more than 90 exhibitors. There is no cost to visit the expo.
