AKRON—The 2018 International Tire Exhibition & Conference, which takes place Sept. 11-13, at the John S. Knight Center in Akron, has added a new speaker to the technical program. With two weeks to go until the doors open, now is the time to register to attend.
John Sheerin, director of end-of-life tire programs for the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association, has joined the ITEC speaker lineup and will discuss "Sustainability Trends for the U.S. Tire Manufacturing Industry." His presentation will examine the industry's overall economic impact, its environmental stewardship, the importance of end-of-use markets and the sector's commitment to produce technically advanced tires.
Sheerin's presentation is part of The Future of Tires track, one of eight themes scheduled for the three-day conference and trade show. Speakers in The Future of Tires track will delve into the most critical and rapidly changing areas of tire manufacturing, including automation in manufacturing, materials and testing for tire performance.
Additional tracks will look at Tire and Material Characterizations, Advances in Tire Manufacturing, Tire Performance Testing, Tire Failure Analysis, Materials for Enhanced Tire Performance, Automation in Tire Manufacturing and Tire Reinforcing Materials.
ITEC 2018 will feature more than 50 paper presentations, a trade show with more than 90 exhibitors, a panel discussion and a keynote presentation by Rich Kramer, chairman, CEO and president of Goodyear.
ITEC is North America's largest tire manufacturing conference.
