AUBURN HILLS, Mich.—General Polymers Thermoplastic Materials L.L.C. is moving its corporate headquarters to its newly expanded facility in Auburn Hills.
The location is ideal to accommodate current staff while providing a platform for upcoming significant growth, Michael Kirtley, president and chief operating officer, said in a statement. The details of the expansion were not disclosed.
The company needed additional space because of the continued growth of its supply partner base and geographic coverage in North America, Kirtley said.
GPTM has capitalized on some loss of focus of big box distribution networks in North America, as a value-driven solution provider for compounded and engineering plastic resin, Gregory Boston, CEO and chief marketing officer, said in a statement.
Auburn Hills has a strong business presence, including multi-national companies, a sports and entertainment complex and a regional shopping center among others. Several original equipment manufacturers, automotive Tier 1 suppliers, plastic part designers and other manufacturers are headquartered or have a presence in the region, GPTM said.
GPTM is a thermoplastic resin distributor in North America. Some of its suppliers of elastomers, thermoplastic polyolefins and urethanes include Lotte Chemical Alabama, The Plastics Group of America, Polymax USA, Mitsubishi Chemical Performance Polymers, Radici Group S.p.A. and Mirathane.
