Trinseo recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of its latex binders plant in Hamina, Finland.

HAMINA, Finland—Trinseo recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of its latex binders plant in Hamina and marked the occasion by again sponsoring the Hamina Tattoo International Military Music Festival.

The festival, which Trinseo has helped to sponsor since 1990, is a world renown music event featuring the talents of military bands from around the globe. Held July 29-Aug. 4, it was organized around a theme celebrating 100 years of the Finnish Defense Forces.

The Horgen plant, established in 1988 produces latex binders for a wide range of products including paper, board, carpet and textiles. The products made at the facility serve a range of industries, such as adhesives, construction and functional nonwovens.

The facility also supplies the high performance latex market.

In a news release, Trinseo noted the plant expects to continue to grow throughout the coming years, saying it "has been positioned itself as strategic partner for its customers."

"On behalf of the entire Trinseo team, we are proud to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Hamina facility taking a leadership role in the region by bringing high reliability and flexibility to the market," Paavo Roenkkoe, Horgen site and production leader, said in a statement. "We believe our strong track record in the production of innovative latex binder solutions coupled with our customer centricity makes us a strong partner to meet the needs of our customers."

Headquartered in Berwyn, Pa., Trinseo manufactures lastics, latex binders and synthetic rubber, serving end-markets such as automotive, appliances, medical devices, building and construction, footwear and tires. The company operates 16 manufacturing sites around the world and with about 2,200 employees.
