CYPRESS, Calif.—Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. is adding a pair of wide-base single truck tires under the "NanoEnergy" line to its long-haul commercial vehicle product portfolio.
Both new products, the Nanoenergy M675 long-haul drive tire and Nanoenergy M175 long-haul trailer tire, feature new low-rolling resistance tread compounds and are SmartWay-verified under the Environmental Protection Agency's fuel-efficiency benchmarking system.
"Fleets are looking to improve fuel efficiency without giving up original tread life," Mike Graber, director of sales, commercial tires, said. "The M175 and M675 from Toyo Tires provide both.
"The result is a lower cost per mile and an improved bottom line for our customers," he added without providing specifics as to the efficiency gains vs. dual fitments.
Both tires feature Toyo's "Nano Balance" compounding technology, which contributes to more precisely arranged molecules in the tread compound, which Toyo claims reduces rolling resistance while improving grip, especially in wet conditions.
Both also incorporate Toyo's "e-balance" technology, which minimizes growth of the tread profile during service, resulting in reduced irregular wear and increased longevity.
The M675 drive tire has a six-groove design and 24/32nd-inch tread depth, while the seven-groove M175 trailer tire has a tread depth of 13/32nd inch. Both are available in one size, 445/50R22.5.
They are produced in Japan.
