JACKSON, Miss.—Ergon Chemicals L.L.C., a wholly owned subsidiary of Ergon Inc., completed its purchase of Resinall Corp., Resinall Mississippi Inc., Industrial Transport Inc. and Resinall QALICB L.L.C. Aug. 1.
The acquisition moves Ergon into the specialty chemicals market, as Resinall is a manufacturer of thermoplastic resins and polymers, according to an Ergon release.
Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Resinall, which has manufacturing facilities in Hattiesburg, Miss., and Severn, N.C., uses natural and synthetic raw materials, chemical reactions and process equipment to create binders and elastomer modifiers for industrial applications. The company serves customers in the adhesive, tire, ink and specialty markets.
The overlap in key industries and customer base makes Resinall a fit for Ergon, said Ergon CEO Emmitte Haddox. He added that Ergon's existing terminaling, trucking and waterways transport infrastructure, as well as technical and operational expertise and support, will help Resinall achieve greater success.
Resinall, a family-owned company established by John Godina in 1981, has been managed by his wife, his two sons and an executive management team since his death in 2012.
KeyBanc acted as exclusive sell-side adviser to Resinall on the transaction.
