ASTON, Pa.—Maguire Products Inc. has developed a blender with built in extrusion control that interfaces with a total system, allowing manufacturers to supervise the line from extruder to haul-off.
The firm's WXB Weigh Extrusion Blender incorporates a gain-in-weight weigh bin and loss-in-weight mix chamber in one machine with a Maguire 4088 controller. Maguire said the system has been proven effective in wire and cable, pipe and profile, and blown and cast film applications.
Its 4088 controller is Maguire's most advanced blender control and designed for communications with other systems in an Industry 4.0 setting. It enables the WXB blender to interface with the Maguire + Syncro supervisory system, providing control of all segments of the production line from a single touch screen HMI control.
The blender is available in three models—WXB 100 for throughputs of 100-200 pounds per hour, WXB 200 for 220-440 pounds per hour and WXB 400 for 440-880 pounds per hour. The blenders can be configured for up to 12 ingredients, each with a separate dispenser.
