AURORA, Ohio—Philpott Solutions Group is moving its energy services subsidiary, Philpott Energy & Transportation Co., from West Virginia to the company's existing facility in Aurora.
The dynamics of the company's growing energy segment in Ohio makes sense for it to relocate closer to its customers, Philpott CEO Jim Vaughn said in a company release.
The decision to move was made easier because of support by the Aurora community and government, Vaughn said.
The company provides a green polymer fluid used in the well completion process, when plugs that were placed in the horizontal section of the well during hydraulic fracturing are drilled out and removed. Philpott technicians provide proprietary, fluid polymers to the drilling services company that injects it into the well, said Vaughn. The fluid acts as a lubricant during the post-fracking drill out process. As the fluid rises through the well, it carries with it plug remnants, sand and chemicals used in the fracking process.
Vaughn said Philpott is developing additional products for introduction into the energy market. With product development activity located near the polymer parts manufacturing center in Aurora, Philpott can leverage existing assets to benefit the energy sector.
