DORMAGEN, Germany—Arlanxeo launched Levapren PXL, a new ethylene vinyl acetate rubber with a high viscosity and easier processing properties.
Arlanxeo said it utilizes reactive extrusion for the production of the new series, using very small amounts of peroxide to precorsslink the polymer and ensuring there are no traces of the crosslinker left in the finished product.
Levapren 500, 600, 700 and 800 PXL variants with vinyl acetate contents between 50 and 80 percent were introduced to the market in early 2018. The firm said the products are ideal for manufacturing high-quality hoses, cable sheathings and floor coverings. The free-flowing granulates are also suitable for rubber and plastics processors with continuous mixing processes who were previously unable to use Levapren.
