BRUSSELS—Bridgestone N.V./S.A. was selected by Ferrari N.V. to supply optional run-flat tires for its 600-cv 2+2-seater Ferrari Portafino convertible sports car.
The Bridgestone Potenza S007 run-flat tires will be supplied to the Ferrari plant in Maranello, Italy, in sizes 245/35ZRF20 (91Y) and 285/35ZRF20 (100Y), according to a Bridgestone statement.
The Potenza S007 design blends cornering with high-speed durability, and an asymmetric pattern design with wide outside shoulders, said Bridgestone. The run-flat technology will allow drivers to maintain control of the vehicle after a puncture and continue driving for up to 50 miles at up to 50 miles per hour, and stop safely.
The Portofino will be available for purchase in Europe and North America.
Bridgestone's Potenza S007 is the optional factory fitment for the 488 GTB and Spider sports cars, the company said.
