WEST HARTFORD, Conn.—Rose Mill Co., a processor of industrial chemicals and minerals, has purchased PPS/Chempac, a supplier of rubber pre-weigh additives.
The deal provides for the continued production of pre-weigh additives, along with an expansion of capabilities for each business, West Hartford-based Rose Mill said in a news release. Financial terms were not disclosed.
"This acquisition is great for both companies," said Coley Karr, general manager of Lebanon, Tenn.-based PPS/Chempac. "Rose Mill is an ISO certified company with a global reach, and PPS/Chempac's customers will benefit from the expanded range of processing capabilities."
Cindy Carbone, Rose Mill office manager, said the firm is active in a number of markets, "but now we'll have the equipment and expertise from PPS/Chempac to serve the rubber pre-weigh market."
The acquisition includes all assets and intellectual property from PPS/Chempac's Tennessee facility. Karr said PPS/Chempac management would remain to ensure a smooth transition, and that customers would continue to receive products and services without interruption.
The purchase is the latest in a string of additions and investments by Rose Mill as part of its growth initiative, the firm said. Recently completed growth objectives include the addition of a semi-automatic filling and labeling line as well as the addition of a third chemical/mineral bagging line.
Rose Mill, a member of the National Association of Chemical Distributors, said it is a global leader in the supply and processing of borates and borate-based products. It also offers toll processing services, including pulverizing, screening, mixing, bagging, filling and labeling of dry granular and powdered minerals and chemicals.
PPS/Chempac has been offering pre-weigh services, such as numbered and lot-traceable low melting batch inclusion bags, to tire manufacturers since 2003.
